- Project Duration: 2021-2022
- Location: Ramu, Moheshkhali, and Cox’s Bazar
- Client: CARE Bangladesh, USAID
- Position: Environmental Engineer, Climate Change Specialist, Disaster Management Specialist
The PRERONA Project had defined three (03) specific objectives to be met through the implementation of the proposal’s planned refurbishment and maintenance operations. The objectives were to:
- Improve the physical quality of shelters and learning environment of the MPCSs;
- Promote equitable access to water, sanitation, and electricity in the shelters;
- Improve communities’ disaster preparedness and resilience.
The review identified PRERONA’s performance levels, achievements, lessons learned, and intended & unintended outcomes over the three phases of activities of its principal specified goal ‘To strengthen community resilience among the vulnerable people of coastal Bangladesh at risk of being directly affected by shocks due to the impacts of disasters’. The emphasis on learning lessons speaks to understanding what has and what has not worked as a guide for future planning. The presentation of results was intrinsically linked to the assessment issues, establishing a flow of logic development derived from the information collected.
