Project Duration: 2020-2021 Location: Bangladesh Client: World Bank, EY Position: Environmental Engineer, Climate Change Specialist The objective of this assignment “Technical Analysis of Industrial Symbiosis Opportunities in the BSMSN Economic Zone – Bangladesh” developed by the World Bank was to evaluate how the economic zone can increase sustainability, and resource efficiency, reduce the use of fossil fuels and, reduce waste generation through the implementation of industrial symbiosis (IS) and green infrastructure projects.
The main objective of the project is to reduce energy usage in RMG units by using energy-efficient machinery and equipment.
The project was initiated in January 2017 and is being implemented by Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University, International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), Campaign for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods (CSRL) and Coastal Association for Social Transformation Trust (COAST Trust).
